PHLF Free Friday Walking Tours: Fourth Avenue Historic District

The history housed in the distinctive building bordering Pittsburgh's 25-foot wide Fourth Avenue, between Smithfield and Stanwix streets is amazing. As you explore the National Register of Historic District, you'll hear about Pittsburgh's "Wall Street," and see buildings designed by more than a dozen distinguished architects, in styles ranging from Greek Revival to Post Modern, constructed between 1836 and 1984. You'll see former bank buildings that have been renovated for new uses and Point Park University's new Pittsburgh Playhouse under construction.
