04/21/2015 - Riverlife’s Lunchtime Loop kicks off Wednesday, April 22

Riverlife's Lunchtime Loop kicks off Wednesday, April 22 as part of the EverPower Earth Day Festival!

Want to break free from your desk while the springtime weather beckons outside? Give Riverlife's Lunchtime Loop a try and win some great prizes!

Riverlife wants you to escape your indoor habitat and head to the Allegheny riverfront for fun and fresh air over your lunch hour. To celebrate Earth Day and highlight Pittsburgh’s riverfronts as public assets for physical fitness, Riverlife is launching a pop-up Lunchtime Loop that will debut as part of the EverPower Earth Day Festival on April 22.

This Wednesday between 11:00 am -1:30 pm, visit the EverPower booth in Market Square to get started. Follow the signs to checkpoints at the Roberto Clemente Bridge and Point State Park fountain. Snap selfies at each checkpoint and tweet or Instagram your pics to @RiverlifePgh with the hashtag #PghLunchLoop. Finish at the Riverlife booth in Market Square and you'll be eligible to earn special incentives from Fittsburgh for participating!

The Loop is a 1.5 mile walk that takes about a half hour. Along the way you'll burn between 150-200 calories, improve your mood, and experience Pittsburgh's beautiful riverfronts.

Are you ready to Loop over your lunch hour? Click here for a map of the Lunchtime Loop and to find out how you can participate for free this Wednesday!

Special thanks to our partners EverPower, the Allegheny County Health Department, StarKist, Market Street Grocery and Fittsburgh,
